After months of deliberation, rumors, and fantasy match ups, the UFC has officially signed former pro boxer and undefeated mixed martial artist Holly Holm.
No opponent for the 33-year-old Holm has been named but talks of a potential fight with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey have been on the table since well before she officially signed with the promotion.
Given her level of competition in MMA, the UFC will more than likely give her a few fights to test her mettle before granting her a shot with Rousey, who will likely sit out the rest of the year as she nurses a broken hand sustained at UFC 175.
Holm (7-0) trains out of the famed Jackson-Winkeljohn camp in Albuquerque, N.M. and stands as the most promising prospect in the women’s division, especially following Rousey’s dismantling of Alexis Davis at UFC 175 that took just 16-seconds for her to retain her belt.
