Jon Jones To Haters: "It's My Career, Not Yours"

UFC light heavyweight champion and social media aficionado Jon Jones has had it with his critics and is firing back. Sort of. Apparently Jones is tired of hearing how he is ducking the Number One contender in the 205 pound division, Alexander Gustafsson, so he took to Instagram to vent a bit.

In the video (which you can see below) Jon Jones states that he has already beat Gustafsson “whether you guys like how close it was or not.” Jones, of course, deleted the video soon after posting it but like everything on the Internet it is never really gone.

I’m sure this video will just make the Jon Jones Haters even more mad but you have to hand it to him, he is not going to be swayed by public opinion or any cajoling from Dana White and the UFC. Jones will live his life the way he wants and there is nothing any of us can do about it. Sure some people will say, “I will never watch another Jon Jones fight again.” And that’s fine. That is their prerogative but it most likely will have little effect on Jones’ career.

For his part Alexander Gustafsson launched his own social media attack earlier today. The Mauler took to Facebook to call out Jones and demand that he sign the fight contract.

Jon “Bones” Jones, be a man, be a champ and sign that bout agreement and stop running. Keep in mind that after I beat you and become the champ I might be doing the same to you when you chase me for a rematch, as a revenge for not accepting my challenge.
Sooner or later you will have to face me, just make it sooner!
The fans wants this fight, UFC wants this fight and I want this fight, and I damn deserve it.

These two will probably go back and forth for a while but I think the fight will happen. And it will probably be another Fight Of The Year candidate as well. But there is one thing both fighters have to realize: no matter who wins, Daniel Cormier will be waiting in the wings.
