Bellator 112: Daniel Straus vs. Pat Curran Preview

Bellator continues Season 10 with another fight card on Spike tonight. The main event is a featherweight championship fight between Daniel Straus vs. Pat Curran.  The prelim card can be seen on Spike.com starting at 6:45pm EST and the main card starts at 9pm EST on SpikeTV.

Let’s take a look at the main event.

Daniel Straus (22-4) vs. Pat Curran (19-5)

This is the third time these to fighters will meet inside the cage. Each fighter has one victory.  Daniel Straus uses wrestling as his main method of attack. While this may not be as exciting as watching two fighters throw punches in the middle of the cage it gets the job done. Straus is 8-1 since signing with Bellator and 14 of his 22 victories have come by decision.

This fight may very well come down to how well Pat Curran defends the takedown. He does have the power to stop Straus if he can get in close and trade shots. Curran is still pretty quick and could use that to counteract Straus’s wrestling.

Daniel Straus is a champion for a reason. He is crafty and patient. He will wait for Curran to make a mistake and then pounce on him. Look for Straus to win by decision. If things go as planned Straus should meet Patricio “Pitbull” Friere sometime in May.

The rest of the main card is as follows:

Andrey Koreshkov vs. Nah’Shon Burrell

Sam Oropeza vs. Cristiano Souza

Jesse Juarez vs. Adam McDonough
