New Fight Added To UFC 173 + Attendance For UFC Fight Night 37

- There is a new fight for UFC 173. The UFC has confirmed a new lightweight fight for the UFC 173 card between The Ultimate Fighter 15 winner Michael Chiesa gainst Brazilian fighter Francisco Trinaldo.

Trinaldo is coming off a win over Jesse Ronson by split decision in February. Chiesa recently submitted Colton Smith last November.

UFC 173 is set for May 24 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

- UFC Asia Managing Director Mark Fischer announced that the UFC would be returning for another event at the CotaiArena in Macau, China later this year on August 23 for another UFC Fight Night card. Fischer made the announcement following Saturdays UFC Fight Night 37 event at the same venue.

UFC will also have an event at the Saitama Arena in Japan for another Fight Night card on September 20. Fischer stated: “Based on the success of our first event in Macau and tonight, we can confirm we are going to be back here in August. We’re holding the date of Aug. 23 with an even bigger event.

FN 37 was the first fight card on UFC Fight Pass that you had to pay for.

- Speaking of the event, it was announced it had a sell-out attendance of 6,000. The total was announced at a post-event news conference by Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia Mark Fischer. No live gate total was announced.

As a fan who watches every big MMA promotions out there, this did not feel like a big deal or even a UFC show.
