The injury bug strikes again. Ian McCall is the latest UFC fighter to pull out of a fight due to injury. Uncle Creepy is officially withdrawing from his fight with Brad Pickett at UFC Fight Night 37.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news at a media lunch event in Las Vegas today. He also stated that the UFC is currently trying to find a replacement for McCall.
This is the second fight in a row that Ian McCall has pulled out from. He also withdrew from a scheduled fight with Scott Jorgensen that was supposed to take place last December at UFC On FOX 9.
This is another blow to the UFC because an Ian McCall vs. Brad Pickett fight would have been outstanding. McCall’s last fight was a victory against Iliarde Santos back in August of last year where he also won the Fight Of The Night bonus.
Pickett has won four Fight Of The Night bonuses in his career so it was safe to assume that a fight with McCall would have been a FOTN contender.
Hopefully Ian McCall can recover from this latest injury quickly and we can see him back in the octagon soon.
UFC Fight Night 37 is scheduled to take place March 8 in London and will be headlined by Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa and can be seen on UFC Fight Pass.
