UFC Signs Top Japanese Prospect + Jon Fitch Next Fight Announced

- World Series Of Fighting officials confirmed today that Jon Fitch (25-6-1) will get a WSOF title shot, and his opponent will be determined at the organization’s next event.

He will fight the winner of WSOF 9′s headliner between reigning welterweight champion Steve Carl (21-3) and challenger Rousimar Palhares (15-5).

The event takes place March 29 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The event’s main card airs on NBC Sports Network.

- PXC bantamweight champion and undefeated Japanese prospect, Michinori Tanaka has decided to sign with the UFC.

He wrote the following on Twitter:

“I have signed a contract with the world’s best Mixed Martial Arts promotion, the UFC, which I have aimed for since I was an amateur.”

 

“Naturally, I am aiming for the belt, but I also understand that I still have some inadequacies now. However, I am confident that I will be stronger simply because I understand that I am also weak.”

A date or an opponent for his UFC debut has yet to be named as of right now.
