It was an exciting first round, Clint Hester must have thought he had it won. A follow-up right sent Andy Enz reeling, and it looked like another TKO finish was in the cards for Hester. Enz stayed in the fight and some how survived.
The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card of tonight’s UFC 169 event at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.Hester’s power was evident early on, as he dropped Enz with punches and nearly finished him in the ensuing scramble. But Enz proved to be tougher than he looked.
Hester (10-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) remains unbeaten in the UFC, this does the first time he’s gone to a decision inside the Octagon. Enz (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffers the first loss of his pro career in his UFC debut. The UFC nerves might have gotten to him in this fight.
