It wouldn’t be a UFC event without Dana White calling out the judges for providing an inept performance. UFC On FOX 10 was no different as the UFC head honcho described the judging of the bout between Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson as “way off.”
That is actually pretty kind when it comes to Dana White commenting on bad judging. I personally did not this that fight could be categorized as a “robbery” like, say, Jones-Gustofsson, Hendricks-St. Pierre or Machida-Davis. Scoring the fight 49-46 for Henderson was a bit generous but, to me, Bendo won the fight. It was close, but he won the fight.
“The scoring was way off. At the end of the day … I don’t know. It definitely wasn’t that wide of a margin,” Dana White said. “If you had Henderson winning it wasn’t by that wide of a margin. No [Ben Henderson did not do enough to warrant a title shot next]. It was a Ben Henderson fight. When Ben Henderson has the title or is trying to get back to the title, that’s a Ben Henderson fight. We’ve seen that fight one million times. It’s not about being more aggressive — he’s a talented fighter. He’s just a grinder, not a finisher.”
