What To Take Away From UFC On Fox 10: Henderson Vs. Thompson

UFC On Fox 10 went down from Chicago tonight free as charged on the various Fox networks (Fox Sports 1 and Big Fox) I did not have huge expectations for this event, but knew I would at least get a solid fights out of it. The main event lived up to my expectations, but UFC on Fox used to be a big deal. This fight to me, did not live up to the hype.

In my eyes with all the hype going into the main card, it was good. Not Great. In My opinion I believe that the undercard was better than the main card.

The Main card had one finish by Donald Cerrone def. Adriano Martins via KO (head kick) at 4:40 of round one and the other three which was Jeremy Stephens def. Darren Elkins by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27), Benson Henderson def. Josh Thomson via split decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46), Stipe Miocic def. Gabriel Gonzaga by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) that was lopsided fights.

The undercard had fighters that wanted to be there and showed up to fight.

The first fight off the main card was a showcase fight that was more than what I thought in Jeremy Stephens def. Darren Elkins. Switching hands, Donald Cerrone defeating Adriano Martins with a nasty head kick changed things and I thought it had a chance to be a fun main card. Then we ran right into the co-main event which was a lopsided event that I could not wait to see end with Stipe Miocic defeat Gabriel Gonzaga.

The main event was a solid fight that met my expectations. I am not crapping over this card, but with the recent fights that we have gotten on Fox, this card felt the least important. Rather a Fox sports 1 card, rather than a big Fox card. Overall a solid night of fights.
