Weidman - Belfort Set For July + Dan Henderson Signs Deal With UFC

– UFC President Dana White has announced that Two time defending UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will be taking on Vitor Belort in July. Check out what he had to say:

“Weidman’s pushing for it to be earlier because he wants to have a normal summer with his family. He hasn’t had a normal summer in a while so we’re going to try to accommodate that.”

“We’re looking at it might end up being July 4th, we’re still working on it.  It could be Fourth of July.  It could be (Memorial Day), it’s going to be one of those.”

Dan Henderson announced on Facebook that he has signed a six fight deal with the UFC:

“If you haven’t heard the news yet, as of today I will not be fighting in the UFC…

“but come March 23 I will be! Hendo vs Shogun II Ufc Fight Night 38″

Dan is set to take on Maurício “Shogun” Rua for the second time and this time it will headline UFC Fight Night 38 on March 23 in Natal, Brazil.

Henderson is is 29–11 overall, but lost his last three fights.

With the first meeting being on pay-per-view and now it being on free TV (Fox Sports 1) i believe that shows a lot about how confident UFC officials are with this fight. If they (UFC) think it will be a great as it was back in 2011 than they would put it on PPV. Also they will most likely add all local guys due to it being based for the locals. None the less, this main event should be good, but not great. It will not be better than their first meeting or meet it in my opinion.
