It looks like Matt Brown will not have to have surgery after all.

He tore two discs in his lower back last month, which made him have to pull out of his fight against Carlos Condit at UFC on FOX 9.

His Wife told MMA Fighting that “The Immortal” has not been cleared to fully train just yet, the doctors are hopeful that will come in February.

If all goes well, Brown should be able to return to action in late spring/early summer.

“If it’s up to him, it’ll be sooner,” she said. “He’s very restless. Can’t wait to get back in there.”

Brown has been on a heck of a streak, winning his six in the Welterweight division.
