The UFC is in Singapore this weekend for UFC Fight night 34. The event is headlined by Tarec Saffiedine and Hyun Gyu Lim. You can see the fight breakdown at this link.

As usual there have been several media session and instead of UFC president Dana White taking the questions. Mark Fischer who is the Managing Director for UFC Asia answered the questions today.

Here is some things he said during the Q&A session courtesy of the Bloody Elbow. On how many events will there be: “I think we’re going for 5 or 6, with an outside chance of even 7 in Asia this year,”

“They’ll be UFC Fight Nights. We hope that (UFC: Philippines) is going to happen on late 2nd quarter of 2014,” he states, “We’re having some very good discussions there. They’ve got a great new venue in the Mall of Asia Arena, and of course, a tremendous fan base. The Philippines has probably one of our largest followings per capita in all of Asia for the UFC. We have a great broadcast partner there, and we’d love to come on 2014. Right now we’re just ironing out these details to make that happen.”

It looks like that many of these fights are going to be in “Fight Pass”. Yes I understand that part of the deal within “Fight Pass” that there will be live fights, but if they did not have “Fight Pass” would it even be on Fox Sports 1? Maybe Fox Sports 2.
