Melendez - Nurmagomedov Pulled From UFC 170

Sorry fight fans, the anticipated fight between Gilbert Melendez and Khabib Nurmagomedov have been removed from the UFC 170 card.

The reason the fight will happened is because the UFC could not come to terms with Gilbert Melendez. As of right now the UFC is looking for Nurmagomedov a new opponent for the card.

This fight was not going to be the headlining fight, but it was going to be a key for making up the card.

As far as the co-main event goes, Rashad Evans vs. Daniel Cormier.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been destroying his opponents. He is 21-0 with seven by knockout, seven by submission and seven by Decision. His last fight he defeated pat Healy at UFC 168 via unanimous Decision.

On the other hand, Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez has not fought since October against Diego Sanchez in a classic at UFC 166.

UFC 170 goes down February 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight
