Breaking Down UFC Fight Night 34 Main Event

UFC brings their very first event to in Singapore and this entire card is built around the country’s stars. If you look at the card, there are only a handful of guys from the United States. It should be mentioned that there are no house hold names on this card.

This is the first event that will be aired on the newly launched on “UFC Fight Pass” which you have to sign up for. UFC Fight Night 34 is just the first example that they better hope they have a big gate for attendance (Attendance Revenue) to make their money back.

For me, I have no interested in this card. Will I watch the event? No. I love MMA, I love watching it, I watch every UFC card that I can. Just in this case, this is not the card for me.

Taking a closer look at this card, our main event is Tarec Saffiedine versus Hyun Gyu Lim. Hyun is coming off two wins over Pascal Krauss via KO at UFC 164 and Marcelo Guimarães via KO at UFC on Fuel TV: Silva vs. Stann.

As for Tarec Saffiedine, he is making his UFC debut and last four wins have come via Decision. The only notable win is over Nate Marquardt, but did not finish him.

Fighters are in the main event for a reason. Looking at this main event, you have a knocked artist in Gyu and a guy who cannot finish a fight for to save his life in Saffiedine.

UFC Fight Night 34 takes place January 4th on Saturday and is airing on UFC Fight Pass.
