Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch has had his troubles in the cage lately, losing two strait. Boetsch was racking up the wins in the middleweight division until he was defeated by Constantinos Philippou. Boetsch tried to rebound that lost, but fell into more trouble when he lost a decision to mark Munoz at UFC 162. The 32- year old is looking to get back into that win column, but his next task is not an easy fight. During his past win streak he earned some big wins over notables like former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and a big upset KO win over Yushin Okami.
“The Barbarian” will meet former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Rockhold was also looking terrific coming into his most recent bout, but was knocked out very viciously by Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil. Rockhold was hoping he could get close to the title, but with that recent set back, a win over Boetsch is a must. Rockhold is a pretty well round fighter, but it will be very interesting to see how he handles the wrestling that Boetsch brings to the octagon come October 19 at Houston’s Toyota Center at UFC 166.
