Pat “Bam Bam” Healy (29-6) was on a tear where he earned six consecutive victories over all tough opponents under the Strikeforce banner. Healy made his return to the octagon at UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen back in April, his first time back since August of 2006. Healy defeated Jim Miller in an epic battle, but the big surprise was yet to come. Healy came out that he had used marijuana and then paid the price for doing so. He lost all his winnings, plus a no contest ruling. Healy will make his way back to octagon at UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson in Toronto. Standing across from Healy will be Khabib Nurmogomedov (20-0). Nurmagomedov is also a teammate of Healy’s last opponent Jim Miller as they both train at AMA in New Jersey. Nurmagomedov has won all of his four fights in the UFC and has looked better and better each and every time. Nurmogomedov has defeated Kamal Shalorus, Gleison Tibau, Thiago Tavares, and Abel Trujillo. The scary thing about this young and talented fighter is that as the competition gets better, he looks better. Pat Healy will be a step-up in competition, but Healy will have his hands completely full when he takes on the highly skilled Nurmagomedov.
