“The Ultimate Fighter” season 1 alum and longtime UFC welterweight contender Josh Koscheck (17-7) has not been at his best inside the octagon as of late. Koscheck had a two fight win streak snapped when he lost to Johny Hendricks via split decision back in May of 2012 at UFC on FOX 3: Diaz vs. Miller. In his next fight, Koscheck looked to rebound against Robbie Lawlor at UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche, but was finished via TKO. Koscheck has not found success lately and things were not going to be an easier for Koscheck when he was set to face Damian Maia (18-4) at UFC 163: Aldo vs. Korean Zombie.
The former middleweight contender, Maia has dominated ever since his move to welterweight, defeating Dong Hyum Kim, Rick Story, and most recently Koscheck’s close friend Jon Fitch. Koscheck wanted to avenge the lost for Fitch in Maia’s home of Brazil, butKoscheck has suffered a disclosed injury. The fight between Josh and Damian will not go down at UFC 163 and there has been no other news released regarding whether the date will be moved back to another event or if they will receive new opponents for a different event. Maia was looking for his fourth consecutive win in this bout with Koscheck.
