Gilbert Yvel retires from MMA


Gilbert “The Hurricane” Yvel has fought for 16 years and made his pro debut back in 1997. The dutch fighter has competed in many top organizations like M-1, K-1, RFA, Pride, and the UFC. Although Yvel has built a name for himself with his skills for fighting, but he is even more known for eye gouging and biting opponents, along with knocking out a referee. Yvel’s most recent fight was a KO victory over Houston Alexander back in March of 2012 at RFA 2: Yvel vs. Houston. “The Hurricane” was planning on returning to the cage, but after having kidney issues and having many cancellation and postponements, Yvel decided to retire from the sport of MMA.
