For years Shinya Aoki has been at the top of lightweight division, becoming one of, if not the most popular fighter in Asia. Aoki recently has been on a 10-1 run with one lone lost to former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at Bellator 66. The Current DREAM lightweight champion captured the ONE FC lightweight championship as he earned submission victory over Koetsu Borku. Aoki has been finding tons of success at lightweight lately, but today he announced via Twitter “Hello featherweight class!!!” which included a picture, showing a scale reading 65.8 kilograms to 145 lbs. The current ONE FC featherweight champion is Kohi Oishi, but there has been no information released on when Aoki will make his featherweight debut.
