The main card for UFC on Fuel TV 6 is about to kick off live on Fuel TV at 9:00 AM eastern. Consider this a public service announcement for all of the MMA psychos out there like myself.

Not everyone is as crazy as us and getting up early (and hungover) on a Saturday morning to watch this event live. This is especially true when you consider that just about everyone has a DVR and Fuel TV is replaying the event at a much more MMA-conducive 7:00 PM eastern time tonight. Not to mention the fact that this is Fuel TV we are talking about here, so the event will definitely be replayed 100 times this week between reruns of “Best of Pride Fighting Championships” and drag racing.

The key is this: unless they are in the room with you, assume your friends are not watching the event live. Do not text something like “Wow did you see Rich Franklin knock Cung Le out!?” Because that will obviously ruin the finish. Instead, send out a feeler, such as “are you watching this live?” and, if there is no response, assume your friend is in radio silence and wait until he initiates conversation about the event.

If you follow this simple rule, your friend, who likely scrupulously avoided Twitter all day to avoid spoilers, will not end up hating you nearly as much as he otherwise would.
