All the fighters who will compete at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy tomorrow, Saturday, July 14, live on Showtime from the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore, made weight at Friday’s weigh ins.
Luke Rockhold, who will defend his STRIKEFORCE middleweight title against Tim Kennedy in the main event, and Lorenz Larkin, who meets Robbie Lawler in a featured non-title televised fight, required two attempts at the scale.
Rockhold, weighed the division-limit 185 pounds after coming in one-half-pound over. After jogging for about 15 minutes, he made weight on the second try. Kennedy weighed 184 1/2 pounds.
Tyron Woodley and Nate Marquard both weighed in at 169 1/2 pounds. Keith Jardine weighed 185 1/2 pounds and Roger Gracie weighed 186 for their key middleweight clash on the main card.
The live preliminary fights on Showtime Extre begin at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The matchups and weights: Jorge Masvidal(156 pounds) vs. Justin Wilcox (155 1/2 pounds), Pat Healy (156 pounds) vs. Mizuto Hirota (156 pounds), Ryan Couture (155 1/2 pounds) vs. Joe Duarte(155 1/2 pounds), Jordan Mein (170 pounds) vs. Tyler Stinson (170 1/2 pounds) and Jason High (171 pounds) vs. Nate Moore (171 pounds).
